Westward School

ISA Chess TournamenT

On Friday 3 May, 6 excited boys met at the Walton Station to embark on their journey to London Christian School to take part in the ISA Chess Tournament.

This was the first time Westward has taken part in this and it was a first for most of the chess players to partake in a tournament.

Westward was one of four schools taking part and the whole experience was new, having to use clocks and follow the various tournament rules. The boys acquitted themselves well and managed a creditable third place.

Well done to all the boys for a job well done and to Krish who was our top points scorer. A big thank you to Mrs Humble and the parents who accompanied the team and ‘cheered’ them on.
