ISA Netball Report  Friday 24th February

The U11 Girls team travelled to Lingfield Notre Dame School to play in the National Schools ISA netball qualifier.

We have qualified for these finals twice in the last 5 years but today was not to be our day. The girls fought hard and never gave up hope as each match result slipped by. Some of the opposition I must say were very tall. Our Surrey water might not be effective enough. More spinach at lunchtime girls I think.

We played a round Robin system in the morning and re grouped in the afternoon. Although the girls had worked hard they still had enough enthusiasm for the afternoon matches. Having played Lingfield Notre Dame the eventual winners in the morning they had learnt to be tougher and more aggressive. The speed with which these top teams play is an eye opener and now gives our girls something to aim for.

We beat both teams in the afternoon convincingly, we passed better, shot with confidence and the girls returned safely back to school, on a high. Every pupil played in the tournament and I am sure they are all looking forward to the Westward Tournament on Friday 10th March.
