Manor House Netball
Manor House Match Reports.
Westward played Manor House School at Netball on Monday 19th February at Manor House. Both schools fielded an U11 and U10 team.
The U10’s played their first match against an equally inexperienced team. The girls remembered about positioning and getting free at crucial times and this showed in our ability to get the ball down the court. Our defence was strong, our mid court players were often free and our shooting was of a very high standard. It is often difficult with such a large squad to keep swapping players at each quarter but the girls coped well and are starting to form bonds in their passing systems. Daya Bains must be congratulated for scoring 9 of the 10 goals and we won 10-1. Well done girls. I look forward to next season.
The U11’s played a high level match and were a bit surprised how fast and determined the opposition were. Our defence fought hard to stop the continued attack and did well not to let more in. Our mid court play lacked drive and determination and stayed behind their partners which is not ideal. You can only play as well as the opposition lets you and these girls were drilled to mark with speed and precision. The ball hardly got down to the shooting end so this is something the girls need to work on. We sadly lost 0-6 but a lot was learnt.
