Westward School

Home School Association (WHSA)

Each year has a Class Representative to support communication within their class and throughout the School.

This is their primary role. To create a social network for the parents within the class by arranging coffee mornings, evenings out each term and encouraging people to attend HSA (Home School Association) fundraising events. If there are new children joining their class, they will offer any social help to help them settle into the School.

At the start of each School year they will also create and update the class contact list, the contact details of children and parents, and circulate this to the class. A great tool for the class parents to keep in touch.

The HSA and Class Reps encourage the helpfulness, approachability and friendliness that mirrors the Westward School ethos. Anyone with any School or academic issues are welcome to speak to their child’s teacher, Mr Parkhurst or Mrs Stevenson.

This is a Committee made up of the Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary, Class Reps and 2 Teacher representatives. The HSA meet to organise and hold social events to raise funds for the School. In the past, monies have been used for the purchase of playground equipment, setting up the School library system, new laptops, sport equipment, benches and the list goes on.

Class Reps will advertise HSA events to their classes and encourage support for parents and friends to attend. Parents are always welcome to help out at social events, extra hands are always appreciated.
